About Me

I live in Brooklyn, New York, and I make my living as a writer, editor, and all-around communications, marketing, and content maven. For fun, I hang out with my family and friends, read, write, cook, music-blog, and yes, I ride my bicycle. All the time. My non-fiction writing has appeared in the Business Record, the news updates and blog for The Door, a premier youth services non-profit; Housing Works AIDS Issues Update, TheBody.com, Medium, Threading Twine, my other blog Textual Healing, and other outlets. My fiction writing has appeared in Jam Tarts Magazine and WV Magazine of the Emerging Writer. My other virtual selves can be found on  Instagram at @mrslentils and on Facebook.

  1. Mika, I am going through tabs (100+) in Firefox that I am trying to close and FINALLY read your ride blog. Beautiful and wrenching. Wonderfully written. I felt so bad not being able to be on the ride last year and this helped me (even now) heal from that loss.

    Love ya’

    • Hey Matt, Just seeing this beautiful, surprise comment. Thank you for the generous and kind words, which arrived on a day when I needed them. I’m especially glad of any healing the writing here provides. We missed you last year and look forward to seeing you again. Lots of love right back atcha. —Mika
